On December 9-10, 2023, the University of Macau’s Department of Government and Public Administration, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Research Center, and Faculty of Social Sciences jointly organized an academic symposium titled “Collaborative Approaches to Governance Challenges in the Greater Bay Area: Multidisciplinary Perspectives, Methods, and Paradigms.” Scholars from leading universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, and the University of Hong Kong, engaged in cross-disciplinary discussions on GBA governance issues.
Prof. Hu Weixing, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, highlighted the event’s role in bridging academic research and policymaking. The symposium featured keynote speeches by Prof. Yu Keping (Peking University) and Prof. Lo Wing Hung (CUHK) on technology and environmental governance, along with six panel sessions covering collaborative governance, digital governance, legal frameworks, and more. The discussions aimed to foster innovative solutions and strengthen regional cooperation in the GBA.
